Winter

Cold, wet, and icy
describes winter

Jack Frost gently blankets
hills, valleys
rivers and streams
with ice and snow

Mountains
far and wide
are capped
with glistening snow

Bears scamper
to caves
to fall into a deep slumber

Icicles hang from
trees, houses, and buildings
like bats stringing a shadowy cave ceiling

Jack Frost will rule
this frozen tundra

Until spring
resurrects Mother Nature
and brings this frozen land
back to life
